Today starts the Snowdown Festival in Durango, which was started many years ago as a way to alleviate the winter blues and bring some snow for the ski areas.   There are tons of really strange things that go on at this event.  It runs from today thru Sunday and the theme is Steampunk so everyone will be dressed in outrageous costumes.  All the businesses have events and there’s even a night time parade.  Looks like this years event is going to work because the snow is due to start falling early Friday morning and go on thru Saturday.  Woot!
