Amber and Brandon were married on a warm summer day at Durango Mountain Resort, which is no longer the official name. They changed it back to it’s original name of Purgatory Ski Resort, but do you really want to say you were married in Purgatory? So Sarah, the wedding coordinator there, has started a new site for weddings called Durango Mountain Weddings. It’s going to be confusing for a while I’m sure.
There are quite a few different areas up there to perform weddings, and let me tell you, they are all beautiful. This couple was married at the Boyce Site – the sun was a little bright, but that’s Colorado (it’s sunny 300 days out of the year here).
Amber and Brandon came from TX with their children from previous marriages as well as their own little boy, who is adorable, but wasn’t feeling well that day unfortunately. They stayed here for a few more days after the wedding and took the train from Durango to Silverton (which is one of our biggest tourist attractions). Then they zip lined the entire way back to Durango – 35 zip lines. This is something new they have added recently. Amber said it took them 5 hrs total, but it was a blast even in the rain.
