Nicola and Angus came all the way from the UK to get married in the USA because they LOVE the 1940’s style clothing. They also love the American West and the western wear, so we got to do a portrait session in both types of clothes.
The funny thing is they were married on the 4th of July, which is kind of ironic because, of course, that’s the day we celebrate the signing of the Declaration of Independence from England! They actually belong to a group in the UK that dresses like this and has events celebrating the 1940s and the American west.
They were married at The Strater Hotel in Durango CO which was built in the 1880s and just oozes with the American west themes. I love this hotel and I love Emily, who is the wedding coordinator there. She helped put the wedding together for Nicola and Angus. The officiant was the Rev Chessa Gill also of Durango. It was amazing.
After the ceremony, my hubby and I took them around to different locations in Durango to take their photographs in places that would remind them of the American west. They were so thrilled with their photos. Here’s some of them.
Thanks for looking.
